RECRUITMENT NOTICE

Applications are invited from male Indian citizens who fulfill the eligibility conditions for filling up the following Group 'C" posts in the SASHASTRA SEEMA BAL. The posts are temporary, but likely to be permanent in the pay scale as mentioned below against each post plus usual and admissible allowances as applicable to Central Government employees from time to time. In addition, ration allowance; medical assistance, free uniform, free accommodation, free leave pass etc. are admissible to SSB personnel. The posts have all India posting liability and selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India and even abroad.
The last date of receipt of application form is 30/9/10 for all States except North-Eastern States, Sikkim, Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba, Lahaul & Spiti and Kinnaur Districts of Himachal-Pradesh, Ladakh Division, Kashmir of J & K State and the Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Lakshadweep for which last date is 07/10/10.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:-

The final selection of the candidates will be made in order of merit in each Category. The qualifying percentage of marks will be as under: -

MEDICAL EXAMINATION: Candidates who qualify the Written test & Practical test in the case of HC Workshop and Shorthand/Typing test in case of ASI Steno & Interview, will be put through detailed medical examination to assess their suitability/ fitness for selection.

APPLICATION FEE:- FOR ALL POSTS:

Application fee will be Rs. 50/- (Rupees fifty only)-Non-refundable for candidates belonging to General and OBC categories. They shall attach the Crossed/Non-refundable Bank Draft or Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of authority mentioned at Col. No.1 & 2 of Para No.11 below. No fee will be charged from SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen.

About BHEL : BHEL, India’s premier engineering organization and one of the Navaratna PSUs, caters to core sectors of Indian economy viz Power Generation and Transmission, Industry, Transportation, Oil and Gas, Renewable Energy, having 14 manufacturing divisions, 08 service divisions, 15 regional offices, 04 power sector regional centres and over 100 project sites spread all over the country. Engineer Trainees :

  • Qualification: Engineers from the Electrical, Mechanical and Electronics with a min 65% can apply for this position.
  • Pay Scale: Recruited candidates should undergo training for 1 year. During training Rs.20600/- will be given. After completion of training, pay scale is Rs.24900-50500/-
  • Age Limit : For undergraduates 27 years, For post graduates 29 years.

Supervisor Trainees

  • Total no of posts : 800 posts
    • Mechanical - 550, Electrical- 150, Electronics- 75, Civil- 25
       
  • Qualification : Must have a diploma in Engineering with 65% marks.
  • Pay Scale: Recruited candidates should undergo training for 1 year. During training basic pay is Rs.12,300.
  • Age Limit: 27 Years.
  • Written Test Date: 24/10/2010
  • Candidates applying for this position should pay Rs.500/- for Engieer Trainee and Rs.300/- for Supervisor Trainee towards application fee.

Selection Process

All eligible candidates will be invited for written test at their own expense. The Written Test papers will be objective type in nature and will be bilingual i.e. in Hindi & English. Thereafter, the candidates will be called for personal interview in the ratio of 1:3 to the no. of vacancies in order of merit of Written Test Marks. For applying the above ratio, initially, all UR candidates of each discipline of Engineering, alongwith such reserved category candidates of that discipline, who do not avail any relaxation, are to be grouped together and then arranged in descending order of written test marks and candidates shall be called for interview in the ratio of 1: 3 in UR category. After this, candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST categories, who are not shortlisted for interview as UR, shall be regrouped with their respective categories for further consideration and candidates will be called for interview in the prescribed ratio.
Later on, at the time of final selection, the same exercise is to be carried out for all those reserved category candidates considered so far under UR category.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

Selection will be on the basis of Written Test and/or Group Discussions, Interview depending on the number of applications received for the post. Merely satisfying the eligibility norm does not entitle a candidate to be called for Written Test / GD / Personality Test / Interview. The Bank reserves the right to call only the requisite number of candidates for the GD / Interview after preliminary screening / short-listing with reference to candidates qualifications, suitability, experience, etc.

BANK OF MAHARASHTRA PO EXAM PATTERN:

WRITTEN TEST: Written Test will comprise (i) Objective Test on Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, General Awareness and English & (ii) Descriptive Test. The Descriptive Test shall be to assess the candidates’ knowledge on Socio- economic development and Communication Skills. Descriptive test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who are adequately high in percentile ranking in each of all the four objective tests. The merit list of written examination will be based on the aggregate of the marks obtained by the candidates in Objective and Descriptive tests. However, the number of candidates to be called for Group Discussion and/or Interview will be as per the appropriate cut off mark decided by the Bank. Merely eligibility/pass in the Written Test will not entitle any candidate to be called for GD and/ or Interview. Further details regarding the Written Test i.e. number of questions, duration, etc., shall be advised along with the call letter. The candidates have an option to answer the Written Test (Descriptive Test) in either English or Hindi (only in one language). There will be negative marks for the wrong answers in the Objective Tests.
GROUP DISCUSSIONS AND/OR INTERVIEW : The candidates who pass the test and rank sufficiently high shall be called for interview in the ratio of 1:3 in relation to the number of posts i.e. 3 candidates to be called for interview for every post depending on ranking in the written test.
