About BHEL : BHEL, India’s premier engineering organization and one of the Navaratna PSUs, caters to core sectors of Indian economy viz Power Generation and Transmission, Industry, Transportation, Oil and Gas, Renewable Energy, having 14 manufacturing divisions, 08 service divisions, 15 regional offices, 04 power sector regional centres and over 100 project sites spread all over the country. The financial turnover of the company, during the year 2008-09 was Rs. 27,505 crores and current order book is of around Rs. 1,30,000 crores. BHEL plans to be a Rs. 45,000 crore company by 2011-12 and a Rs. 90,000 crore company by 2016-17.

Engineer Trainees :

  • Total no of posts : 600 posts
    • Mechanical – 400, Electrical – 125, Electronics – 75
       
  • Qualification: Engineers from the Electrical, Mechanical and Electronics with a min 65% can apply for this position.
  • Pay Scale: Recruited candidates should undergo training for 1 year. During training Rs.20600/- will be given. After completion of training, pay scale is Rs.24900-50500/-
  • Age Limit : For undergraduates 27 years, For post graduates 29 years.
  • Written Test Date: 31/10/2010

Supervisor Trainees

  • Total no of posts : 800 posts
    • Mechanical - 550, Electrical- 150, Electronics- 75, Civil- 25
       
  • Qualification : Must have a diploma in Engineering with 65% marks.
  • Pay Scale: Recruited candidates should undergo training for 1 year. During training basic pay is Rs.12,300.
  • Age Limit: 27 Years.
  • Written Test Date: 24/10/2010
  • Candidates applying for this position should pay Rs.500/- for Engieer Trainee and Rs.300/- for Supervisor Trainee towards application fee.

Important Dates :

1. Start of the Online Application Submission : 30/08/2010
2. Last date for online Application Submission : 20/09/2010
3. Last date for the receipt of acknowledgment slip : 27/09/2010

Selection Process

All eligible candidates will be invited for written test at their own expense. The Written Test papers will be objective type in nature and will be bilingual i.e. in Hindi & English. Thereafter, the candidates will be called for personal interview in the ratio of 1:3 to the no. of vacancies in order of merit of Written Test Marks. For applying the above ratio, initially, all UR candidates of each discipline of Engineering, alongwith such reserved category candidates of that discipline, who do not avail any relaxation, are to be grouped together and then arranged in descending order of written test marks and candidates shall be called for interview in the ratio of 1: 3 in UR category. After this, candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST categories, who are not shortlisted for interview as UR, shall be regrouped with their respective categories for further consideration and candidates will be called for interview in the prescribed ratio.
Later on, at the time of final selection, the same exercise is to be carried out for all those reserved category candidates considered so far under UR category.

How to Apply

Apply online at BHEL website only up to 20.09.2010. After submitting the application online, download two copies of the acknowledgement slip. Keep one copy of acknowledgement slip an send another copy of acknowledgement slip, duly signed with recent photograph pasted on the slip along with payment copy and certificates, send to the following address on or before 27.09.2010

Application fee: Rs 500/- for Engineer Trainee and Rs 300/- for Supervisor Trainee to be paid in the SBI throughout the country by prescribed challan only (SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted from the fee).
