Staff Selection Commission Tax Assistant Recruitment Written Test Results 2010

The Staff Selection Commission had conducted an open competitive examination for recruitment to the post of Tax Assistant on 13th December, 2009 on all India basis except Andhra Pradesh and one centre in Allahabad (UP) where the re- scheduled examination was held
on 7/2/2010.

2. Following are the lists of 2152 candidates in roll number order, who have qualified in the written part of Tax Assistant (Income Tax & Central Excise) Exam, 2009 and are eligible for being called for the Skill Test in Data Entry Speed on Computer. The answer sheets of candidates who appeared in the rescheduled examination held on 7/2/2010 in Andhra Pradesh and one centre at Allahabad are yet to be evaluated. However the cut-off for paper-I for evaluation of Paper-II and final cut-off for skill test will remain the same for these candidates as well. Accordingly the total number of the candidates as well as the candidates in different categories would undergo revision subsequently.

3. Commission has received the under mentioned vacancies from user departments

4. The cut-off fixed by the commission for different categories of candidates, the number of the candidates available the skill test is indicated below:

5. The above said lists are purely PROVISIONAL and the candidates whose Roll Numbers figure in the list would be called for the Skill Test subject to their fulfilling all the eligibility conditions/requirements as prescribed for the post in the Notice of Examination and also subject to thorough verification of their identity with reference to their photographs, signatures, handwritings etc. on the Application Forms, admission certificates, Attendance Sheet, OMR Answer Sheets, etc. If on verification from the application form, it is found that a candidate does not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, he/she will not be called for the Skill Test.

6. The category status in respect of candidates belonging to reserve categories has been indicated along with their roll numbers. It is important for such candidates for whom certain percentage of vacancies are reserved as per the policy of the Government, to note that some ofthem might have been declared qualified for the Skill test in the category mentioned against his/her roll number, he/ she may not be eligible to be called for the Skill Test. It is therefore, in the interest of the candidates concerned to contact immediately the respective Regional Offices/Sub-regional Offices of the Commission in all such cases where they do not belong to the category shown against their roll numbers.

7. The Skill Test is likely to be held on 6-7th March, 2010 will be available on the Commission’s Website shortly. The respective regional offices/Sub regional offices will issue the call letter for skill test in due course. In case the candidates who are declared to have qualified do not receive the call letter by 24/2/2010 they should immediately approach the RDs/DDs of the Commission. In connection with the said Skill Test, which will be of qualifying in nature, the following points are brought to the specific notice of the candidates:

a) The Data Entry speed Test on computer will be given on running test matter in English;

b) Duration of the said test will be 15 (fifteen) minutes and a printed test passage containing about 2000-2200 strokes/key-depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the computer;

c) The ‘speed of 8000 key depressions per hour in computer’ will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of all the key depressions in computer as per the given test passage;

d) The computer will stop accepting data entry as soon as a candidate commits an error in data entry and will start accepting further data entry only after the error has been corrected by the candidate. To alert the candidate that she/ he has committed an error which would need correction, the computer may give a sound signal(beep).

e) Candidates will comply with such other and/or further directions may be given to them along with the admission Certificates for the Skill Test or in Test Room.

f) PH candidates who have opted for the posts in CBDT are eligible for exemption from appearing in the Skill Test, subject to Government Orders in force on grant of such exemption. However, no such exemption will be available for posts in CBEC. Candidates intending to seek such exemption should apply to the concerned Regional/Sub Regional Office immediately and obtain exemption before the Skill Test. If they do not attend the Skill Test without obtaining such exemption, their candidature will be cancelled.

8. Marks secured by the candidates who have not qualified in the written examination will be available on the Commission’s Website shortly.
