Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, UPSC



Profile:
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) was established on October 1, 1926 under the Article 315 of Constitution of India. It consist of a chairman and ten members. The major objective of the commission is to make recruitment to the services and post under the union through the conduct of competitive examination.


Job profile:
Candidates can apply for the posts of Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service and Indian Police Service.
Eligibility:
Candidates should be between 21 to 30 years of age as on 1 August 2010. Age relaxation as per rules. Candidates should be physically fit.
Educational Qualifications:
Candidates are required to have degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized institute or university.
No. of posts: Several posts are available for the the position of Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service and Indian Police Service.
Pay Scale: Candidates will be given the prescribed salary depending upon their posts.
Selection process:
Candidates will have to undergo a written examination. Candidate’s performance in the examination will play a major part in the final selection for the posts.
