The Thiruvalluvar University was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu, Government of India. The university was established under the Thiruvalluvar University Act, 2002. The major objective of the university is to empower Tamil Nadu through higher education. The university is determined to achieve the goals arousing the sense of Social Awareness and encouraging Reciprocal Growth in Tamil Nadu.
