Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology(SVNIT) was founded in the year 1961 by the Government of India. It is one of the top 20 National Institutes of Technology in the country. Dr. W. R. Sherekar is the chairman of the institute and Dr. P.D. Porey is serving as the director in the institute.
